MENTHORAI Italiano

Credits

This page concerns the MENTHORAI learning platform (app.menthorai.ai), not the website you are visiting now. Some of the icons that accompany lessons on the app come from third-party open-source libraries: we list them here, with the licence and the attribution due to each author.

How icons work on the platform

These credits refer to what appears during lessons on the app.menthorai.ai platform, not to the company website. During the explanation, the lesson text may contain emoji: they are standard Unicode characters, rendered by the font on the student's device. They are not a MENTHORAI asset and do not require attribution.

The icons that appear in the questions and in the lesson materials, on the other hand, are SVG images taken from third-party open-source libraries and displayed on the platform. Each library's licence requires its source to be acknowledged: there are 9,125 icons in total, from 36 different libraries, listed below by licence type.

Declared modification. Before publication, the original files are normalised into a monochrome format with inherited colour (currentColor), so that the final colour can be applied dynamically by the browser according to the context of the lesson. The drawing, shape and expressive content of the icon are not altered: only the technical colour attribute. We state this here because Creative Commons licences require any modification to the original work to be indicated, however minor.

Apache, MIT and ISC licences — simple attribution

These licences allow free use, including commercial use, and ask that the name and author of the library be indicated.

Creative Commons Attribution licences (CC BY)

These licences require the author of each icon used to be credited. For Game-Icons.net, which alone accounts for 2,132 of the icons used, individual attribution is given on the page of each icon on the official website, where each author is named.

Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike licences (CC BY-SA)

In addition to attribution, these licences require any adaptation of the original work to be redistributed under the same licence. However, Creative Commons licences explicitly allow the technical modifications needed to use the work in a given format or technical context, without this constituting an adaptation subject to share-alike. The colour normalisation described above falls into this category: it is a technical modification that makes the icon usable in the platform's dynamic colouring system, and it does not alter the shape, composition or expressive content of the original drawing.

Public domain (CC0)

These licences do not require attribution. We credit them anyway, out of respect for those who created them and made them freely available.

The icons are distributed through the public Iconify registry, which collects and catalogues the libraries listed above while keeping their original licence. Licences and attributions have also been checked against the official Iconify registry.
